Ignite Your Secret Weapon to Turn Your Dreams Into Reality

You’ve probably heard this — or some version of it — a million times:
“Being ready isn’t a feeling, it’s a decision.”
It’s true. We can talk ourselves out of beginning something far faster than we can talk ourselves into it. And most of us know the feeling that often sits underneath that hesitation: I am not enough. A thought that, over time, turns into a belief system.
In yoga, this is known as Avidya — ignorance of our true self — the first of the five kleshas, or causes of suffering. It means we have forgotten who we are. Forgotten that we are born of courage, clarity, and love, and that anything other than that has been taught to us over time.
Doubt. Fear. Anxiety. Insecurity.
All learned through life experience — often during moments when we were taught it wasn’t safe to dream big, take risks, fail, be anything less than perfect, or even believe in ourselves. So we played it small. We did what we thought was needed of us — and at times, that may have even been necessary.
But somewhere along the way, we forgot a mighty part of ourselves.
This part is the truth of who we are.
This part remembers how powerful we are.
And while it can be developed at any point in life, the best way to build it is through action.
Action toward discovering your purpose.
Action toward your dreams.
Action toward fear.
This, my friend, is what we call courage.
It is your secret weapon.
Once it’s developed, felt, and known, nothing can take it away from you. And it only grows stronger over time — through continued action.
But what about the fear that holds you back? The truth is, fear will always be there. But courage must be — and can be — BIGGER than fear. So if you believe there is a different life you’re meant to be living, what you really need — all you need — is courage.
Courage is what enables you to take the first step. It’s the guiding force that reminds you your purpose is also much bigger than your fear. It walks beside you as you make decisions toward the life you believe you’re meant to live.
And I get it — change is scary. Where you are right now is familiar. Even if part of you feels uncomfortable or stuck, another part feels safe simply because it’s what you know.
Change is unknown, and it will always hold some mystery. But change is also an adventure — exciting, new, and full of possibility. If we lean into it, and trust what yoga teaches, we begin to see just how much potential we truly have.
At the same time, choosing to live a life aligned with your values, beliefs, and purpose is not easy. It will challenge you in ways you’ve never imagined. It will push your limits. And it will also be the most meaningful, fulfilling thing you ever do — because when you follow your purpose, you are choosing the path that requires the most of you.
The Bhagavad Gita says:
“It’s better to do your own dharma imperfectly than another’s perfectly.”
This speaks directly to the fear of not being good enough — the fear that keeps us from trying at all. It reminds us that imperfect effort is far more meaningful than standing still. Courage is built through messy action, through showing up as you are, through taking risks on yourself, and choosing to believe in yourself.
One of my favorite reminders is this: you are not your outcomes, but you are your efforts. Your efforts shape who you are and help you discover what you truly want from this life. So if you want to build and feel more courage, you have to try. Take the first step — regardless of what you think the outcome will be.
Create a business plan.
Hire a mentor.
Shift your routine.
Start doing whatever it takes to move toward the life you believe you’re meant to live.
And when the path gets rough, just remember, at the heart of it all is courage. Courage comes from the Latin cor, meaning heart. At its root, it’s about living and speaking from the heart — staying connected to what feels true, even when it’s uncomfortable, uncertain, or calling you to take the next step. Let that courage guide you forward. And if you want support as you take that next step, I’m here to walk beside you.
Cheering you on,
