The Life Hack You've Had All Along

Let me get right to it.

I’ve joked for a while now that Nike figured it out years ago.

Just do it.

It really is that simple. Most people are looking for some big secret, a life-altering change, or think they have to become someone entirely new because who they are right now isn’t enough.

But small, simple changes are the most powerful — and the most lasting.

That doesn’t mean it’s easy. But it is something you can start immediately.

Think about how many things you’ve delayed in your life…

  • I’ll start to eat healthy tomorrow

  • I’ll start exercising next week

  • I’ll start to budget my money next month

  • I’ll start that new business next year

And so on.

We wait for the perfect circumstances and timing, as if that exists. And all that really does is keep us exactly where we are — still a few steps away from the life we know we’re capable of living.

So what if instead, you just took one step forward?

If even that feels like a lot, or you're not sure what that step forward entails, keep reading.

In order to just do it, you need two things:

1) Mindset

2) Action

The Mindset Shift:

In order to create new habits or patterns, you have to start by believing new things about yourself.

Your current habits are a reflection of who you believe you are. If you want to change how you live, you have to begin there.

You have to believe that you are:

  • capable

  • worthy

  • someone who actually follows through

Because if you don’t believe that, your actions will always fall back to what feels familiar.

So step one is this: Believe you are the person who lives the life you desire — and who takes the steps to support it. It doesn't have to be perfect, you just have to show up.

And then we take it deeper. There’s a yogic technique called Departure Points (taught by Rod Stryker).

It goes beyond positive thinking.

It’s about choosing the space you live from.

Instead of living from:

  • doubt

  • delay

  • “I’m not ready”

You live from:

  • commitment

  • clarity

  • the version of you that already knows

This becomes a daily practice; a conscious choice that shapes your actions, determines your consistency, and ultimately creates your experience.

Click on the PDF below for a super simple 3-5 minute practice that you can immediately begin applying to your life and days.

The Action:

Now comes the part most people skip. The action, Just do it.

Action is what creates change.

Not thinking about it.

Not waiting until you feel ready.

In yoga, this is abhyasa — consistent effort. Doing the work, over and over again, in a steady way. This is how the practice works. Not because you felt motivated, but because you showed up.

So get clear on what you actually want in an honest way.

Then ask:

What is one step I can take today that supports this?

This is where people overcomplicate it. You don’t need a full plan or more time to figure it out, you need to move forward.

  • Sign up for the class.

  • Go to the class.

  • Buy the groceries you said you would.

  • Have the conversation you’ve been avoiding.

  • Register the LLC.

One step done with intention is what builds momentum. And momentum is what makes all the future steps more natural.

Keep it simple. But follow through.

Because every time you do, you reinforce: this is who I am now.

I’ve attached the same goal-setting template I’ve used with retreaters and coaching clients since 2021. Download it and get started today!

To bring it together: you already have everything you need to begin. You might just need to remind those parts of you to come alive again — and let them take up more space. And most importantly, believe in yourself, your potential, and the life you know you’re here to live.

If you’re looking for support, my 1:1 coaching is a great place to start.

We begin with a 90-minute session built around you and your goals. Afterward, you’ll receive a personalized strategy and clear next steps to help you move forward — and keep going. And if it feels aligned, I’ll share ways we can continue working together for ongoing support and accountability.

Much love,
