Get LIT the Right Way: The Power of Community & Connection

A Recap of Our lululemon Birkdale Membership Madness Event

Thursday night, we hosted our Membership Madness Event at lululemon Birkdale—and I am STILL feeling the energy! The connections, the conversations, the sheer magic of the night—it all still lingers. It was an evening to celebrate our community with a special shop night, a wellness station (hosted by me!), permanent jewelry, local lemonade and desserts, and high vibes—thanks to the incredible Lululemon team and my husband, aka our DJ and vibe curator.

Being in that space was deeply nourishing. Seeing familiar faces, meeting new ones, and feeling the pulse of people coming together—it was electric. I was in my element, and I could see that same spark returning to so many others. I also had the honor of introducing myself as the store’s yoga ambassador and leading the group in three rolling OMs—the sound of the universe, creating a powerful vibration that connected us all. It was magic.

When we finally got home after 10p (wayyy past our bedtime), I was still buzzing with energy. I turned to Scott and said:

"The world doesn’t need alcohol to get LIT—it needs connection."

Let's be honest, real connection lasts and leads to true fulfillment from within, and I feel this so deeply right now. I recently shared my journey with healing burnout and how community was fueling me forward, and last night reinforced that truth: community and connection are essential for our well-being.

Here’s My Invitation to You:

Build your community. Stop putting off that coffee date and schedule it. Take that yoga class and surround yourself with like-minded people. Book the trip with your bestie. Join me on a retreat! Do the things that light you up and help you feel awake, alive, and connected.

Because connection is what brings us lasting fulfillment.

And I know this because I feel it after every retreat. The high from teaching, practicing yoga, and building relationships in breathtaking places—it stays with me. But I’ve been exploring something deeper: How do we make this feeling last? Because when the retreat glow fades, when the community high settles, we often fall back into routine, stress, and disconnection.

So, how do we keep this feeling alive?

I Have an Answer:

First of all, I know you’ve felt this before—at a retreat, in a yoga class, or a community gathering. That aliveness. That clarity. That deep sense of belonging.

You felt that way because you were more connected to yourself. You were in a space where you felt like you could simply be yourself—where you felt purposeful, passionate, and like you were exactly where you were meant to be.

And then, the event ends, life happens, and we return to the mundane of our routines. We slip back into habits that dull our inner spark. We start believing we can only access that feeling from outside sources.

But here’s what I’ve learned from yoga—and this is life-changing. Are you ready?

What we cannot get from the outside world, we can give to ourselves through our practices.

Sit with that for a moment. This teaching is profoundly empowering.

And it’s something I have been exploring deeply because if yoga is showing me that I have this power within—then what else is possible? What else can I create, do, and become in my life? Discovering this within our practice—and truly giving ourselves the things we often seek externally—isn’t easy. It requires consistent discipline, dedication, and devotion.

But everything I’m sharing is why I step onto my mat—to reconnect. To come home to myself. Because when I am connected to myself, I create deeper connections with others and the world around me.

Everything we are searching for is already within us. We just need to remember—and find the practices that help us embody this wisdom in our daily lives.

And yet, so often, we tell ourselves we’re too busy to actually live our lives.

So here’s my invitation for you to explore:

What is it about community experiences that light you up?

What brings you love, joy, and fulfillment?

And how can you give that to yourself, right now, through your own practices?

And no, I am not saying we can feel this way all the time, nor are we meant to. But when we learn to cultivate this energy from within, we move through life with more purpose, more presence, and more love.

It all starts within. And that is empowering.

So today, I hope you do something that lights you up from the inside out.

Live fully—awake, alive, and connected. Your future self will thank you, and so will the universe and everyone around you.

Much love,

Carole, The Free Spirited Wanderer
